Sea Glass 5"x7"

Finally another painting!

The children and I collected this sea glass from Niarbyl beach on The Isle of Man.

While I was there I noticed a couple of chickens that we're pecking at the sea weed, it was quite odd to see them there. I kept thinking 'chicken of the sea' which is in fact what is written on one brand of canned tuna. There was plenty of sea glass, and indeed just broken glass that was in a transitionary phase, neither jagged and neither smooth.

70's Child (click here)

I got snapped and quoted last night at the Bowery Ballroom. Is that my real age? Only the mirror in my attic will tell.

Blue skies and a bitter rant.

Blue skies and warm weather brought all of NYPD's finiest onto the streets today. They were out to catch me during that one miraculous moment when the FDR wasn't at a standstill and you can actually go above the speed limit (along with everyone else). Then an hour later got a parking ticket! Wrong side, wrong time, wrong type of money put into the wrong slot of the parking meter. There, I've got that off my chest.

So nothing painted in ages because everyone I love is an aquarian and I've been to London and The Isle of Man. Very nice.

Sleeping Arrangements

Nothing to do with paintings, but the dogs are being so ridiculous that I thought it was worth sharing. The apartment is a bit of a tip so try to ignore the mess - those are hockey tickets on the floor. This was taken before Bertie chewed through a wire and electrocuted himself. He's now on steroids and painkillers and is consequently a tad drowsy, but hopefully will recover his 'sparky' old self soon.

Irish Dresser 6" x 8"

We went to a fabulous steak house in Chicago with M & J. They served up some very fancy brioche in these dinky copper pans. I asked if we could buy them and they just gave them to us. How nice was that - thank you Prime Steak House of Chicago.

A Very Cold Day

Darling Fergus, I should have posted this yesterday, but better late than never - Happy Birthday.

Coldest day in NYC for two years! I have been forced to covert farenheit to celsius because it sounds even more extreme -7c - and that is not taking the wind chill into acccount. Brrrrrhhhh.

I'm currently working on another of my Irish Dresser series - Two Books and a tea cup. However, no new paintings due to constant interuptions (Ian Winwood) and a frenzy of birthday present activity.

Pip pip.

Four Beets and a Radish 6" x 8"

These beets were gleaming in the supermarket, it was only when I got them home that I realised that they had been misted to keep them bright, shiney and visually appealing to the discerning shooper. So, in the painting they're rather flat and dull. Also, the leaves wilted before my very eyes and so I had to use memory and artistic licence. After I had finished the painting I cut the beets in half and revealed fabulous colours, hey ho.
